Vital Village Stories: Rockingham

After a beautiful first gathering in September, Vital Village Stories returns — this time with a Taste of Scotland!

Two gifted storytellers of Scottish heritage — Will Wilson and Miranda Santalucia — will share tales threaded with ancestry, myth and meaning. These aren’t just performances… they’re invitations into deeper reflection and connection with those around you.

Miranda Santalucia, beloved host of the Kwirky Kwinana Storytellers, shares a traditional Scottish tale that’s both wise and funny. Miranda has a gift for bringing warmth and laughter into the room — her storytelling helps strangers feel like neighbours.

Will Wilson brings two evocative tales from his travels and ancestral lands — one uncovering Merlin’s hidden resting place on his grandmother’s land, the other a folktale of exile, loss, and the long path to renewal. Will’s storytelling dances between myth and memory, blending earthy humour with emotional depth.

Bring a plate of supper food to share — maybe even something with a Scottish twist!

Settle in with candlelight, music, and a simple, welcoming atmosphere

Connect in small group conversations after each story — this is where the magic deepens

Here’s what September's participants said:

“A very warm feeling of human connection, laughs and good food.”

“Heartfelt, welcoming environment with wonderful stories – personal, wise and ancient.”

“A wonderful evening of storytelling, sharing and connection.”

“…story sharing and connection that inspired a deep sense of community.”

We’d love to welcome you into the circle. Come solo, or bring a friend… all grownups welcome. Older children are also welcome at the discretion of their parent or guardian — please note that the stories are selected with an adult audience in mind and may occasionally explore mature themes.
